MASK, ORONASAL, TRANSPARENT
(Combination Size For Adult, Child, And Infant)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This commercial item description covers an oronasal face mask with a one-way valve and head strap for mouth to mask resuscitation of a nonbreathing patient.
Salient characteristics:
The mask shall be in accordance with requirements of ASTM F920 for use with an operator powered resuscitator and shall be capable of mating with a standard patient valve. The mask shall be designed to fit any patient, adult, child, and infant. It shall include a head strap to secure it to the patient’s face. It shall have a soft inflatable or inflated vinyl cuff to conform to the facial anatomy, providing a seal around the patient’s nose and mouth. The mask shall also have a semi-rigid transparent dome and an oxygen inlet stem for connection of standard oxygen tubing.
A one-way valve shall be provided to protect the operator from the patient’s breath when used for mouth-to-mask resuscitation of a nonbreathing patient.
The mask and one-way valve shall be reusable and capable of being disinfected/sterilized in accordance with ASTM F920.
