RESUSCITATOR, HAND-OPERATED
(Intermittent Positive Pressure,
High Oxygen Concentration Capacity)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This Commercial Item Description covers a band powered pulmonary resuscitator intended for use during emergency situations.
Salient characteristics:
The resuscitator shall be in conformance with ASTM F 920 for adult resuscitators and shall not include a pressure limiting system. It shall include the following items:
* One (1) adult compression bag of the folding type for storage.
* One (1) oxygen reservoir bag assembly, closed end type. Open end accumulator type shall not be acceptable.
* One (1) patient valve with an approximate 90 degree angle between inlet and outlet. The outlet shall be a 360 degree male swivel patient connector in accordance with ASTM F 920 and ASTM F 1054.
* Two (2) face masks, reusable; one small adult size, and one medium adult size (single patient use type masks shall not be acceptable). The face masks shall be in accordance with ASTM F920 and ASTM F 1054.
