FILIFORM, URETHRAL

This commercial item description covers various sized plastic urethral filiforms.
Salient characteristics:
The filiform shall be a sterile, radiopaque, disposable, urethral filiform suitable for dilating, probing, and sounding the human urethra. The filiform shall be fabricated of a flexible plastic which meets the requirements of the USP for Class IV plastics. Sterility shall be in accordance with the USP. The filiform shall measure 32 ± 2 centimeters and have an olive tip at the distal end. The proximal end shall have a female threaded fitting fabricated of a suitable non-corrosive material. The depth of the threaded cavity shall measure ¼ ±1/32 inch. The threads shall be American Standard Thread Series 0.073 ± 0.001 inch x 56, Class 2. French size of the filiform shall be as indicated below.

Workmanship. The filiform shall be free from defects which detract from their appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Package (PG). One package containing ten individually packaged sterile filiform of one size only constitutes one unit. The individual package shall be a sealed peel-open type container capable of maintaining sterility of contents unless the package is damaged or opened.
