COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
FORCEPS, TENDON-DILATION, STRAIGHT
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-F-37985 which is canceled.
This Commercial Item Description covers a tendon-dilation forceps for occluding tendons and dilation to create a new tendon channel.
Salient characteristics:
General. The forceps shall be 8-1/2 inches in length, suitable for occluding tendons and dilation to create new tendon channel.
Material. The forceps shall be fabricated from class 4, type 410 or 429 martensitic corrosion-resistant steel in accordance with ASTM F899.
Hardness. The forceps shall have a Rockwell Hardness (HRC) scale of 40 to 45 when tested in accordance with ASTM E 18 or E 92 whichever is applicable. Conversion of hardness values shall be in accordance with ASTM E 140.
Style and dimensions. The forceps shall be in accordance with Figure 1 for style, design and dimensions.
Performance. The forceps shall be made to meet the applicable requirements for workmanship and performance in accordance with ASTM F 1026.
