The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description Sheet.
The complete requirements for procuring suture needle holders shall consist of this document and the issue in effect of Commercial Item Description A-A-51992B.
Salient characteristics:
Style, design and dimensions. This specification covers the following style of ophthalmic and plastic surgery suture needle holders:
Style I- Delicate jaws
Class 1- Straight, 5-1/2 inches
Class 2- Curved, 5-1/2 inches
The suture needle holders shall be in accordance with Figure 1.
Notes:
1. Intended use. Suture needle holders of the Castroviejo design covered in this Commercial Item Description Sheet are intended for aiding in ophthalmic and plastic surgery procedures on the eye.
