COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
BRONCHOSCOPE, FIBER OPTIC, HOLINGER
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-B-36893A which is cancelled.
This commercial item description covers fiber optic bronchoscopes, of the Holinger design, for use in bronchoscopy and anesthesiology.
Salient characteristics:
Classification. The bronchoscopes shall be supplied in the following sizes:
Type I – 3.5 mm diameter lumen by 25 cm long
Type II – 9 mm diameter lumen by 40 cm long
General. Shall be a fiber optic bronchoscope of the Holinger design, suitable for use in bronchoscopy and anesthesiology when used with fiber optic endoscopic instrument light, 115 volt, 60 Hz, AC and fiber optic endoscopic instrument cable, 72 inches long. (see Notes).
The instrument shall be supplied with an oval-shaped fiber optic light carrier that disperse illumination when assembled into the light carrier channel of the instrument and assembled to the fiber optic endoscopic instrument light and cable specified above.
Style, design and dimensions. The fiber optic bronchoscope shall be in accordance with Figure 1 for style, design and dimensions.
