SPLINT, NASAL (Brown Style)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This commercial item description covers Brown style nasal splints, suitable for splinting fractured noses, or noses following osteoplastic operations.
Salient Characteristics:
The splint shall be fabricated of malleable aluminum, covered with a muslin (cotton) fabric, suitable for splinting fractured noses or noses following osteoplastic operations.
The splint shall be available in the following sizes:
1. Small, 2-1/8 inches wide by 1-7/8 inches long (5.4 by 4.8 cm).
2. Medium, 2-3/4 inches wide by 1-7/8 inches long (7.0 by 4.8 cm).
The splint shall be Brown style.
The splint shall not be provided with a forehead extension.
Workmanship. The splint shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Package (PG). One package containing twelve splints of one size only, as specified, constitutes one unit.
