The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement or Military Specification MIL-C-37366A which is cancelled.
The complete requirements for procuring catheter and needle unit, intravenous, disposable, 24 gage catheter, 50s shall consist of this document and Commercial Item Description A-A-53780.
Salient Characteristics:
Style, design and dimensions. This specification covers the following types of catheter and needle units:
Catheter (Gage) – 24 gage
Needle Size (Gage) – 26 gage
Catheter Length
(free, inch) – 3/4 inch
Syringe Class – none
Composition – Radiopaque
The catheter and needle units shall be in accordance with Defense Personnel Support Center Drawing No. 24380.
Notes:
a. Intended use. The catheter and needle units covered in this Commercial Item Description Sheet are intended for administering intravenous medication from a single venipuncture.
