COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
RACK, HEMOSTATIC CLIP (McKenzie)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-R-36128A which is cancelled.
This commercial item description covers a hemostatic clip holding rack suitable for use with McKenzie hemostatic clips and clip introducing forceps during surgical procedures.

Salient characteristics:
General. The rack shall be capable of accepting and
dispensing McKenzie hemostatic clips specifically designed for this application
and also be capable of accepting McKenzie style clip-applying forceps
specifically designed to pick up and dispense McKenzie hemostatic clips (See
Notes 2 and 3).
Material. The rack and base shall be fabricated from American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), type 430 ferritic stainless steel. The cover shall be fabricated from Class 3 austenitic stainless steel and the screws and machined parts shall be fabricated from Class 3 or Class 4 martensitic stainless steel in accordance with ASTM Designation F899.
Hardness. The base, rack, and cover shall have a Rockwell hardness B scale (HRB) of 75 minimum and the screws and machined parts shall have a Rockwell Hardness B scale (HRB) of 85 minimum when tested in accordance with ASTM Designation E18 or E92 whichever is applicable. Conversion of hardness values shall be in accordance with ASTM Designation E140.
Style, design and dimensions. The rack shall be in accordance with Defense Personnel Support Center (DPSC) Drawing No. 20536 for style design and dimensions.
Finish. The rack shall have a mirror, satin or matte finish. The matte finish shall exhibit a uniform non-directional surface texture equivalent to that produced by lightly blasting the prepared surface with fine abrasives under pressure.
