COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TUBE, CONNECTING, SURGICAL APPARATUS, GLASS
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-T-36055 which is cancelled.
This Commercial Item Description covers a straight glass connecting tube used on irrigating apparatus.
Salient characteristics:
General. The connecting tube shall be straight and suitable for use with 1/4 inch rubber tubing as used on irrigating apparatus.
Material. The connecting tube shall be fabricated of clear borosilicate glass that is properly annealed in accordance with ASTM E671 and capable of meeting the requirements specified in ASTM E1157.
Style, design and dimensions. The connecting tube shall be in accordance with Defense Personnel Support Center (DPSC) Drawing No. 20432 for style, design and dimensions.
Workmanship. The connecting tube shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Package (PG). One package containing twelve tubes, as specified, constitutes one unit.
