COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
BURN CARE KIT, MEDICAL
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This Commercial Item Description covers a sterile burn dressing kit suitable for use in the treatment of burns.
Salient Characteristics:
The medical burn care kit shall be composed of sterile, non-toxic, hypoallergenic, non-adherent, non-odorous, biodegradable gelled-water burn wraps, dressings, and towels. The components will treat burns through cooling and evaporation processes.
The kit shall contain the following:
* Two – 3 inches wide by 36 inches long rolls
* Two – 8 inches wide by 36 inches long rolls
* One – 24 inches wide by 36 inches long towels
* Two – 14 inches by 18 inches face masks
* Two – 1 inch wide by 36 inches long finger wrap rolls
* Two – rolls of conforming gauze (approximately 2 inches wide by 5 yards long)
* One – carrying case (vinyl or canvas)
* One – pair of scissors (surgical bandage type)
The burn relief material shall be self-conforming so that it can be easily wrapped around the injured body portion, staying securely in position without requiring additional dressings or tape.
Each dressing shall be individually packaged in a convenient tear-open or peel-open package. The following (or similar) shall be printed on each package.
