COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
PARTITION, MEDICAL CASE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This commercial item description covers a partition suitable for use with Case, Medical, Shipping and Storage, for the division of the Case interior into adjustable sized compartments.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be a movable, rigid, aluminum partition, with polyethylene foam cushioning and spring loaded latches, able to be locked into the interior framework of the Medical Case without the use of tools.
The partition shall be constructed of 3/16 inch (0.48 cm) thick American Standard Construction grade aluminum in accordance with DPSC drawing number 24539 dated 21 October 1986. The aluminum shall have anodic coating in accordance with MIL-A-8625 Type II.
The partition shall be equipped with a layer of 1 inch (2.54 cm), flexible, 2 pound density, polyethylene foam cushioning, conforming to Federal Specification PPP-C-1752, affixed to each side with pressure sensitive adhesive. The cushioning shall be 15 inches (38.10 cm) wide by 16 inches (40.64 cm) high for the 16.75 inch (42.55 cm) high partition, and 15 inches (26.04 cm) wide by 9-3/4 inches (24.77 cm) high for the 10.25 inch (26.04 cm) high partition. There shall be a cut-out for the spring loaded latch. The cushioning shall be centrally positioned on the partition surface such that the edges are not covered, to allow unhindered insertion into the slots of the interior frame. Cushioning shall be dark gray or black in color.
The 16.75 inch (42.55 cm) high partition shall be for use in the 20 inch (50.80 cm) high Medical Case, and the 10.25 inch (26.04 cm) high partition shall be for use in the 13 inch (33.02 cm) high Medical Case, constructed in accordance with DPSC drawing number 24539. (See notes)
