COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
ELECTROCARDIOGRAPH (ECG)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This Commercial Item Description covers a non-transmission type, multichannel, digital electrocardiograph (ECG).
Salient characteristics:
1. Unit shall be a multichannel electrocardiograph which:
a. Acquires standard 12-lead electrocardiograph (I, II, III, aVR, aVI, aVF, V1, V2, V3, V4, V5 V6).
b. digitizes the information.
c. Performs algorithmic analysis, such as filtering noise, detecting arrhythmia abnormalities, etc.
d. Provides a printed, three channel electrocardiograph with narrative interpretation.
e. Allows for patient data entry through a full, alpha-numeric keyboard.
2. Alphanumeric keyboard shall be capable of entering and recording multiple patient data entries. Data shall include but is not limited to: patient name, social security number, age, height, weight, sex, medication and patient status, i.e. inpatient or outpatient. Time and date of ECG and patient’s name and social security number shall be annotated on the hard copy.
3. Integral alphanumeric printer shall provide recording formats and at least three channel (50 mm) records with patient information and ECG interpretation. The unit shall be microprocessor controlled with operator selectable speeds and sensitiveness of at least 25 and 50 mm/sec and 5, 10 and 20 mm/mV with an accuracy of plus or minus 5 percent, respectively.
