The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-C-37994 (DLA-DM) which is cancelled.

This commercial item description covers sterile, non-toxic, non-pyrogenic, disposable, catheter and needle units suitable for prolonged administration of intravenous medication from a single venipuncture. The unit shall be ready for use and shall permit aseptic insertion by the surgeon without the necessity of hand scrubbing or wearing of sterile gloves.

Salient characteristics:

General. Catheter and needle units shall be furnished as a combination of the following designations:

* Tolerance: +/- 1 inch
