COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
CLAMPS, ARTERY, DEBAKEY, SHALLOW “U” JAWS
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-C-37548 which is cancelled.
This Commercial Item Description covers artery clamps of the DeBakey design suitable for accomplishing hemostasis in delicate tissue.
Salient characteristics:
General. Shall be artery occlusion clamps of the DeBakey design, capable of providing a firm, non-slip, triangular grasp, for accomplishing hemostasis without causing trauma to the tissue. The clamps specified herein shall be of the following sizes and styles:

Material. The clamp shall be fabricated from class 4, type 410, 416 or type 420 corrosion-resisting stainless steel in accordance with ASTM F899.
