COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
MICROSCOPE, SURGICAL (Co-observation, Binocular)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-M-42053 which is cancelled.
This Commercial Item Description covers a surgical operating microscope with interchangeable objectives.
Salient Characteristics:
Shall be a filter optic illuminated and motorized surgical operating microscope with interchangeable objectives, for alternate use in ENT, Opthalmic and Neurosurgery procedures.
Shall be designed to provide a total magnification ratio of at least 1.4, with a maximum magnification of at least 16X, and with a field of view that ranges from at least 13 millimeters (mm) to 50 mm.
Shall be suitable for operation from 50/60 Hz AC supply lines. The applicable line voltage shall be as indicated in the contract or purchase order (see �Ordering data� paragraph).
Shall as a minimum include the following:
A microscope body with motorized zoom magnification changer, focus adjustment, and body positioning, integrated coaxial fiber optic illumination with a lightguide of appropriate length, and interchangeable 175 mm, 250 mm and 300 mm objectives.
A fiber optic coaxial illumination system which includes an illuminator housing with built-in power supply, lamp on/off and intensity control, enough light output ports to transmit light to the main microscope illumination� system, slit illuminator and homogenous illuminator, and any necessary column mounting brackets.
An inclinable binocular tube equipped with removable high-eyepieces with locking diopter positions, and a continuously adjustable eyepiece interpupillary distance of approximately 50 mm to 75 mm.
