This commercial item description describes an anti-embolism stocking which is worn by patients as an aid in promoting venous return while bedridden.
Salient characteristics. Stocking, Anti-Embolism, white, with closed heel and toe, foot inspection point, graduated compression from ankle to top, compression at ankle of 16mm/hg to 30mm/hg, 1 inch (2.54 cm) cuff at the top.
STYLE A - Knee length
Size 1 - Medium, regular length for use on 12 to 15 inch (30 cm to 38 cm) calf
Size 2 - Large, regular length for use on 15 to 17-1/2 inch (38 cm to 44 cm) calf
STYLE B - Thigh length
Size 1 - Small, regular length for use on calf UP to 12 inches (30 cm), 29-to 33 inch (74 cm to-84 cm] length
Size 2 - Medium, short length, for use on 12 to 15 inch (30 cm to 38 cm) calf, up to 29 inch (74 cm) length
Size 3 - Medium, regular length, for use on 12 to 15 inch (30 cm to 38 cm) calf, 29 to 33 inch (74 cm to 84 cm) length
Size 4 - Medium, long length, for use on 12 to 15 inch (30 cm to 38 cm) calf, over 33 inch (84 cm) length
Size 5 - Large, short length, for use on 15 to 17-1/2 inch (38 cm to 44 cm) calf, up to 29 inch (74 cm) length
