SUCTION SET, TRACHEAL
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This commercial item description describes a set with necessary components used for tracheal suctioning.
Salient characteristics. Suction Set, Tracheal, sterile, disposable. Set consists of: tracheal suction catheter, 20 to 22 inches long, with beveled tip, two or more eyes and fingertip control valve;
Type I - one (1) glove
Type II - two (2) gloves
Style A - with 120 ml pop-up solution basin, glove or gloves in non woven inner wrap, sets individually packed in a peel open pouch.
Style B - with waterproof towel, minimum 100 ml sterile saline solution (Sodium Chloride Irrigation, USP); packaged in a rigid peel open basin.
Size 1 - 14 Fr.
Size 2 - 18 Fr.
Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerances specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard 376, and all other requirements of this document are met.
If a product manufactured in metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable.
The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product.
