COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
ADAPTER, INJECTION-ASPIRATION SITE (CRITIKON)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This commercial item description describes an adapter used with winged infusion needles or intravenous catheters.
Salient characteristics. Adapter, Injection-Aspiration Site, sterile disposable, individual package, latex rubber injection site, transparent hub with luer lock attachment, non-pyrogenic, minimum 1-1/8 inch ± 1/32 inch overall length (2.86 cm ± .079 cm, provided with protective cap. Individual package to be labeled “STERILE” (no strike through or bleeding of the labeling). Package/product must be clean and without holes or tears.
Workmanship. The adapter, injection-aspiration site shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Unit of issue shall be as stated in the solicitation.
Quality Assurance Provisions.
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
