INTERIM COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE INHALATION AEROSOL
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Interim Commercial Item Description which was developed by the Defense Personnel Support Center, Directorate of Medical Materiel, DPSC-RST, 2800 South 20th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19101, based upon currently available technical information.
Salient Characteristics:
Shall be Triamcinolone Acetonide Inhalation Aerosol, Oral.
Shall be a microcrystalline suspension of Triamcinolone Acetonide in an inert propellant suitable for oral inhalation.
The valve shall deliver in each metered dose approximately 200 mcg of Triamcinolone Acetonide of which approximately 100 mcg are delivered from the unit to the patient.
Each container shall deliver not less than 240 Metered Doses.
All ingredients used in the manufacture of the item shall be of pharmaceutical grade.
Workmanship. The Product shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Package (PG). Shall be supplied 20 gram in a commercially available suitable container. One package containing one 20 gram container, together with an oral adapter and an illustrated patient leaflet, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers’ own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
