Tests. Tests shall be conducted to determine compliance with specification requirements. Where feasible, the same sample shall be used for the determination of two or more test characteristics.
Sampling for examination. Sampling for examination shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105, with an AQL of 4.0 (percent defective) and an inspection level of II. The unit of product for examination purposes shall be one x-ray film storage cabinet, as specified in this description.
Defects.
Cabinet is not constructed of welded sheet metal. |
Cabinet does not accommodate minimum of six cartons of 14 inches by 17 inches x-ray films. |
Cabinet does not have a baked enamel paint, epoxy coating, or plated finish. |
Cabinet does not sit evenly on a flat surface. |
Welds are not continuous, not clean, or not free of pitting, splatter, or discoloration. |
Exposed or accessible edges, corners, or surfaces are not broken, rounded, or otherwise treated to eliminate sharp edges. |
Finish is not uniform and free of course grind marks and scratched areas. |
Cabinet is not clean and free of oil, grease, dirt or other foreign material. |
Sampling for tests. Sampling for tests (dimensional) shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105, with an AQL of 2.5 (percent defective) and an inspection level of S-3. The unit of product for test purposes shall be one x-ray film storage cabinet.
a. First article. Where a first article sample is required, all tests shall be performed on that unit.
b. Acceptance testing. When a first article sample has not been required, one unit shall be subjected to the performance test specified herein. If a test article sample has successfully passed all tests, performance test shall not be required at acceptance.
