Finish. The finish of the hemostatic forceps shall be mirror, satin, or matte. The matte finish shall exhibit a uniform nondirectional surface texture equivalent to that produced by lightly blasting the prepared surface with fine abrasives under pressure.
Identification markings. In addition to the requirements specified in ASTM F1026 the forceps shall also be marked ”stainless” and shall bear the name or registered trademark of the contractor.
Tests. Corrosion resistance, hardness, performance, and dimensions shall be tested as specified under Quality Assurance Provisions.
Workmanship. The forceps shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability and in accordance with ASTM F1026.
Unit. Each (EA). One forceps, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Product Quality Level.
Visual and dimensional examination. Shall be examined to verify that design, construction and workmanship are in accordance with applicable requirements.
Materials. The supplier shall be responsible for assuring that materials are in accordance with requirements specified.
Quality Assurance Provisions.
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contact or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
