Style, design and dimensions. The forceps shall be in accordance with Defense Personnel Support Center (DPSC) Drawing #22358.
Passivation. The forceps shall be passivated.
Finish. The forceps shall be mirror, satin, or matte. The matte finish shall exhibit a uniform, non-directional surface texture equivalent to that produced by lightly blasting the prepared surface with fine abrasives under pressure.
Corrosion-resistance. The forceps shall show no signs of corrosion or plating of copper when tested for corrosion-resistance in accordance with ASTM Designation F 1089.
Performance. When fully closed, the jaws shall align with each other (no scissor). Action of the forceps shall be easy, without drag or binding. Performance shall be in accordance with applicable portions of ASTM F 1026.
Markings. The forceps shall bear the contractor’s name or registered trademark and the word “stainless”. Forceps of foreign manufacture shall bear the name of the country of manufacture.
Workmanship. The forceps shall be free from burrs, cracks, sharp edges, scale, corrosion or other defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Product Quality Level.
Visual and dimensional examination. Shall be examined to verify that design, construction and workmanship are in accordance with applicable requirements.
Materials. The supplier shall be responsible for assuring that materials are in accordance with requirements specified.
Unit. Each (EA). One forceps, as specified, constitutes one unit.
