CLAMP, ARTERY, BULLDOG, GLOVER
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-C-37547 which is cancelled.
This commercial item description covers Bulldog artery clamps for accomplishing hemostasis in surgical procedures.
Salient characteristics:
General. Shall be Bulldog artery clamps of the Glover design. Tension of the clamp shall be regulated by means of an integral adjusting screw and spring at the proximal end of the clamp. One jaw shall be provided with two rows of well defined teeth throughout the entire length of the jaw. The other jaw shall posses a single row or well defined teeth. The depth of all teeth shall be consistent. Clamps specified herein shall of the following types and sizes:

All clamps shall provide a firm, non-slip, triangular grasp, for accomplishing hemostasis in delicate tissue, without causing trauma to the tissue.
Material. The artery clamps shall be fabricated from class 4, type 410, 416 or 420 corrosion resistant stainless steel in accordance with ASTM F899. The adjusting screw and the spring shall be fabricated from class 3, types 302, 303, and 304 corrosion resistant steel in accordance with ASTM F899.
