Tests.
Hardness. Hardness of the blade shall be tested in accordance with ASTM E18 or E92. Conversions shall be in accordance with ASTM E140. Hardness impressions shall be taken as close to the cutting edge as possible, but not on beveled portions. The average of three readings shall be considered the hardness of the blade.
