Regulatory Requirements.
Recovered Materials. Offerors/contractors are encouraged to use recovered material in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practical.
Federal Food, Druq and Cosmetic Act. The offeror/contractor shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by their subcontractors/suppliers, with the requirements of cited Act and regulations promulgated thereunder, and the requirements of all other applicable Federal and State statutes and regulations, as appropriate.
Packaging and Marking. Except for Type IV, stump socks are to packaged individually or three to a package. Six individually packaged socks or two packages of three socks, each of the same size and ply, shall be tied with suitable string or rubber bands encircling both width and length. Each package will be labeled or noted to indicate the size number, length in inches, width in inches at the top and the toe, the ply and type material (cotton, wool, synthetic yarns). Instructions for proper care and laundering of the socks will be included in or on each package. The flap of each package will be secured in such a manner as to permit inspection of contents and resealing without damage to the contents or destroying the package. Type IV stump socks shall be packaged in a manner appropriate for storage, handling, and use.
Test Methods. Test methods include: ASTM D 231, ASTM D 1059,AATCC 20, AATCC 150, AAYCC 135 1A and 2A.
