Finish. The finish shall be satin. The finish shall be uniform and free from burrs, pits, rough areas, scars, and grind and tool marks.
Resistant to corrosion. The forceps shall show no sign of corrosion when tested in accordance with ASTM Designation F1089.
Identification marking. Forceps shall be permanently marked with the contractor’s name registered trademark and the word “stainless”. In addition, forceps of foreign manufacture shall bear the name of the country of manufacture.
Workmanship. The forceps shall be processed in such a manner as to be uniform and free from defects which affects life, utility, or appearance.
Product Quality Level.
Visual and dimensional examination. Shall be examined to verify that design, construction and workmanship are in accordance with applicable requirements.
Materials. The supplier shall be responsible for performing tests to assure that materials are in accordance with requirements specified.
Unit. Each (EA). One forceps, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Quality Assurance Provisions.
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contact or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
