ANALYZER, INTRAVENOUS INFUSION PUMP

This commercial item description covers an intravenous infusion pump analyzer.
Salient characteristics.
The analyzer shall be a portable unit suitable for testing the flow-rate of intravenous infusion (IV) pumps and similar volumetric hospital equipment.
The unit shall contain a microprocessor which controls the tests and calculates and displays the results. Shall be supplied with two volumetric chambers, one large and one small, each with accuracy of one (1) percent. The unit shall have modular solid state circuitry and digital read outs. The unit shall be of modular construction. Shall have subassemblies and chassis components which are removable without removing any other hard wired assembly or printed circuit card or component. Shall have printed circuit boards which are removable without the need to unsolder cables or wires. The unit shall permit adjustments without removing any component printed circuit boards, or modules. The use of a circuit board extender to permit adjustments is acceptable. The unit shall be capable of testing four IV infusion pumps simultaneously.
Operation. The unit shall be capable of performing both a drop rate test and a volumetric flow rate test. The unit shall also be capable of converting drop rate to volumetric output. Selection switches shall describe function, range, and/or test.
