Identification marking and labeling. Syringes shall be permanently marked with the manufacturer’s name or registered trademark and the word “stainless” if applicable. In addition, syringes of foreign manufacture shall bear the name of the country of origin.
Instruction Sheet. The following shall be furnished with each syringe containing Type II plunger assemblies.
‘INSTRUCTIONS’
Apply Dow Corning No. 200 fluid, with not less than 100 centistrokes viscosity grade at 25°C (or other suitable nontoxic lubricant compatible with solutions to be used) to the “O” – ring as required to allow piston to move freely throughout excursion of barrel after sterilization.
Workmanship. The syringe shall be free from cracks, pits, crevices burrs, tool marks, and dirt or polishing materials Internal flaking of plating shall be cause for rejection.
Visual and dimensional examination. Syringes shall be examined to verify that design, construction and workmanship are in accordance with applicable requirements.
Materials. The supplier shall be responsible for assuring that materials are in accordance with requirements specified.
Unit. Each (EA). One syringe, as specified, constitutes one unit.
QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS.
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contact or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
