Blade. The blade shall be a- coated stainless steel blade and shall be permanently assembled in the razor. Each cutting edge of the blade shall be 1-7/16 + or - 1/16 inches (3.65 cm + or - 0.157 cm) in length and shall be exposed from beneath the cap of the razor no less than 1/32 inch (0.079 cm) and no more than 3/20 inert (0.127 dm). Thickness of the blade shall be from 0.0036 to 0.0067 inch (0.0091 to 0.017 cm).
Color. The color of the razor shall be the manufacturer's option.
Sterility. Type I razor shall be sterile when tested for sterility in accordance with the method specified in the U.S.P. or A.A.M.I. guidelines.
Hardness of blade. The coated blade shall be uniformly hardened to the hardness range indicated below for the applicable composition, when tested in accordance with ASTM Designation El8 or E92 and 2140, or equivalent British Standard method.
